A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in the Pollards Hill area in Mitcham.
Police were called to South Lodge Avenue at 4.36pm yesterday along with paramedics.
A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries that have been assessed as not life-changing.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation continues.
Police are asking for any witnesses to the stabbing to contact them quoting crime reference number 4947/04SEP.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 16:36hrs on Sunday, 4 September police were called to reports of a stabbing in South Lodge Avenue, Mitcham.
“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics.
“A 47-year-old man was taken to a south London hospital with non-life changing injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“At this early stage there have been no arrests.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet spoken to police should call 101, giving the reference 4947/04SEP.
“Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.31pm yesterday (4 September) to reports of a stabbing on South Lodge Avenue, Mitcham.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a medic in a fast response vehicle. We also dispatched Kent, Surrey and Sussex’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a person at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
