Asian-inspired restaurant Itsu is offering its first 400 customers to free food today in Brixton High Street, ahead of the official opening on Friday.
Moving in next door to McDonald’s and opposite KFC, the Asian-inspired restaurant chain hopes to create a bit of “healthy competition” with its new neighbours.
Itsu will be officially opening its doors on Friday, September 9 at 11am.
Ahead of the official opening, Itsu are inviting their new neighbours to a ‘first look lunch’ today (Thursday 8), which gives the first 400 visitors on-the-house food from 12pm.
Opening in the former HSBC building, Itsu have taken inspiration from the Apple Genius Bar, introducing their new ‘Itsu sensei’s’ who will be waiting front of house to greet customers and answer any questions.
Itsu’s menu includes hot noodle and rice bowls, fresh sushi, and salads as well as their signature steamed gyoza and bao buns.
Most dishes are under 500 calories and cost less than £7.50.
Alongside kombucha and green tea, you’ll find refill water flasks sold at a discounted price, with a percentage of sales going to the Blue Marine Foundation.
State-of-the art digital ordering screens have been designed for lightning-fast service, customisation of hot dishes and instant access to nutritional & allergen information.
Itsu also offers a half-price sale of sushi and salads 30 minutes before closing to help eliminate food waste.
The new opening offers 30 new jobs to the local community.
