A woman from Wandsworth is representing south London in the final of a national modelling competition.
Fleur Montanaro, who has lived in Wandsworth most of her adult life, has made it to the national final of the Classic Miss British Isles 2022 model competition.
She has been given the title of Classic Miss London South 2022.
The final takes place tomorrow (September 9) at The Crown Plaza Hotel in Chester where Fleur will take part in a catwalk show in front of the judges.
The winner will be announced on the day.
There are two competitions being judged tomorrow: Miss British Isles Elegance Modelling Competition for ladies aged 30-44 and Classic Miss British Isles Modelling Competition for ladies aged 45 and above.
Approximately 30 finalists from across Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England make it to the national final, with each representing their home areas.
The winner will receive:
• A modelling and promotional contract
• The Classic Miss British Isles crown and studded winner’s sash
• A portfolio consisting of four photo shoots throughout the year
• Official Classic Miss British Isles gifts and merchandise
• Official Classic Miss British Isles Official appearance wear
• VIP tickets to Miss British Isles events
• Jewellery • Fashion wear
• A professional website
• Mailshot and introductions to leading model agencies within the British Isles
• A photo shoot for the winner and their family
• Hairdressing products and beauty treatments
Previous winners of Miss British Isles events have gone on to be signed by top modelling agencies and taken part in major TV shows, with one winner even appearing in a Bollywood film.
Fleur enjoys travelling and has previously spent seven years as a volunteer aid worker supporting communities in the Sahara desert.
Another interest of hers is reading and she is currently the administrator for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, which is described as “the most prestigious and important literary prize in the Arab world.”
Fleur is also an aspiring actress and has taken on roles in plays at Putney Arts Theatre as well as being a background actress on shows like Eastenders and Holby City.
