Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III announced that the monarch's state funeral would be a national bank holiday.

Taking place on Monday September 19, the bank holiday will see many changes and closures to regular day-to-day activity.

Supermarkets including Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl and more will close alongside fast food chains such as McDonalds shutting until 5pm on the day.

Another change to regular business is the weekly bin collection which will see amended collection dates to work around the occasion.

Bromley Council has said that bin collections will be taking place a day later than the regular schedule states for the area.

  • Wednesday September 21- Thursday September 22
  • Thursday September 22- Friday September 23
  • Friday September 23- Saturday September 24

Bexley Council also shared they would be changing bin collection days to a day later.
