A Walthamstow artist has received a £50,000 grant to support his work.
The David and Yuko Juda Art Foundation grant provides money to alleviate the financial pressures on artists and help them concentrate on their work.
Brian Dawn Chalkley was announced as this year’s recipient on Wednesday, September 14, at Annely Juda Fine Art.

David and Yuko Juda said: "This year choosing was incredibly difficult.
"All eight could have been awarded the grant.
"However, we felt that Brian Dawn Chalkley's work stood out as somehow quite different and was a revelation to us all."
The David and Yuko Juda Art Foundation charity was set up in 2017 and, each year, a curator is appointed to put forward around eight artists to be considered for the grant.
A panel of the foundation’s trustees, including David and Yuko, then decides which of the artists put forward should receive the grant.
This year’s other shortlisted artists were, Savinder Bual, Lubna Chowdhary, Angela de la Cruz, Sean Edwards, Siobhan Hapaska, Hilary Lloyd, and Avis Newman.
Co-curators Ingrid Swenson and Andrew Wilson said: “We were guided by enabling a range of voices to be heard and tried not to impose any overarching theme or restriction on our selection.”
