An Office fan thought they had stumbled upon Ricky Gervais' return as David Brent - but it was just his 'official' lookalike.
The actor and comedian's double, Tim Oliver, was seen in Potters Field in south London at around 2pm on Tuesday.
A picture shows the lookalike crossing a road while dressed in a dark suit as a man in a high-vis holds a boom mic over him.
His clothing and facial hair is similar to Gervais' look while playing Brent, the lead character in The Office - sparking false speculation of a new series.
An onlooker said they initially thought it was Gervais but later realised it was his lookalike.
They said: "I was on my lunch break and spotted filming yesterday afternoon, around 2pm in Potters Field, near London Bridge.
"He was with another younger male, whom I didn't recognise, in a white shirt and suit bottoms.
"The lookalike is spot on and I would never have thought that it wasn’t Ricky. I'm intrigued to know what was being filmed!"
The Office aired on the BBC in the early 2000s and is widely recognised as one of the best TV shows ever made.
A spokesperson for Gervais said: "It is not Ricky in the pictures - it is his lookalike Tim Oliver. Ricky is not working on a new David Brent project."
Oliver's website describes him as the "official" Ricky Gervais lookalike.
