The A2 will remain closed in both directions into the evening of October 8 as police continue to investigate an incident that occurred this morning.
Both carriageways of the A2 will remain closed this evening as police continue to investigate a fatal car crash.
At 10.30am this morning (October 8), a black BMW M3 was travelling on the A2 towards the slip road for Dartford heath – when it allegedly left the carriageway and overturned.
Two passengers, a man, and a woman in their 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.
The road remains closed in both directions between A223 Bexley and A282/M25.
There has been severe delays and heavy congestion around the Bexleyheath and Dartford area all day.
Kent Police are appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Both carriageways will remain closed into the evening while an investigation into the incident continues.
“Updates on the closures should be sought from @HighwaysSEAST.”
