A man has died after a house fire in Lee.
Firefighters were called to a house fire on Waite Davies Road last night at 7.47pm.
The whole of a two storey semi-detached property was badly damaged by the fire.
A man was found by firefighters inside the house and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire was under control by 9.13pm.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Lee Green, Lewisham, Eltham, Bromley, East Greenwich, and Forest Hill fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Sadly a man has died following a house fire on Waite Davies Road in Lee.
“The whole of a two storey semi-detached property was badly damaged by the blaze. A man was found by firefighters inside the house.
“He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“The Brigade was called at 1947 and the fire was under control by 2113. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Lee Green, Lewisham, Eltham, Bromley, East Greenwich and Forest Hill fire stations were at the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
