A car on fire has caused the M25 to shut.
The M25 is closed clockwise between J25 and J27 near Waltham Abbey due to a car on fire.
An alert of the fire was first issued just before 4pm.
Motorists are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on road signs to the J25 exit slip.
Highways England said: "At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A10 towards London and continue to Great Cambridge Junction. From there take the first exit onto the A406 North Circular ROad towards M11, Walthamstow and Edmonton.
"At j4 on the M11, keep in the middle lain and then take the link road onto M11 towads Cambridge. Take the exit at j6, go ont he M25 J27 and bear right to rejoin towards Dartford Crossing."
There are currently long queues past J24 in Potters Bar due to the incident and a broken down lorry. Delays are stretching through to Waltham Cross and Epping Forest.
It is currently unclear if there were any injuries and emergency services have been contacted.
