A woman who fraudulently misused a blue badge has pleaded guilty following an investigation.
Fiona Pierce, 56, of Irvine Close in Whetstone, parked her car on a single yellow line and used the blue badge to make her exempt from parking restrictions in Borehamwood.
While parked in Clarendon Road, on March 17 a civil enforcement officer conducted a routine check and asked to inspect the badge.
Pierce confirmed that the badge belonged to the lady she cares for, who was at home in Camden.
The badge was seized and the matter was referred to the Shared Anti-Fraud Service. Pierce was interviewed under caution and admitted to knowingly misusing the badge, but claimed she did so because she was in a rush at the time.
On October 12 at St Albans Magistrates’ Court, she was ordered to pay a fine of £184 and a Victim Surcharge £34 in addition to £150 costs to Hertsmere Borough Council.
