The latest coffee and lunch option in Muswell Hill is the international chain Pret a Manger.
The chain's first shop was actually just down the road in Hampstead in 1984, before the brand was sold and ballooned into the international operation it is now.
In Muswell Hill it has opened at 197 Broadway, which was formerly Rakha and Clarks.
Guy Meakin, interim managing director UK and Ireland at Pret A Manger, said: “We want to bring Pret’s freshly made food and organic coffee to even more people, which is why we’re delighted to be opening a new shop in Muswell Hill with our franchise partner Carebrook.
"We are hiring 15 new Team Members and we’re excited to welcome our first customers this week.
"As part of our ongoing work to help alleviate homelessness and poverty, where possible surplus freshly made food from the new shop will be donated to local charities at the end of each day via The Pret Foundation.”
Pret has recently announced that from December 1, 2022, all UK employees will receive a 5% pay increase. Counter staff will be paid between £10.30 and £11.55 per hour and baristas up to £12.50 per hour.
