Climate issues and the importance of nature will be highlighted at a day of activities taking place later this month.
Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF) is teaming up with the Epping Forest Sunflower Group for the event which will include an exhibition of artwork, slideshow and music.
This will take place at Grange Farm in Chigwell on November 11 from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
VAEF Ace Activities Music Group will be providing entertainment at the event, which will also showcase the work of the Sunflower Group with artwork, photography and videos.
The first ever issue of Sunflower Group’s Life Force Magazine highlighting the wide range of activities the group does to raise awareness of climate change will be on sale for £5 per copy at the exhibition day. Stalls will also sell products created by the ACE Activities groups, as well as Sunflower Group greeting cards. The event is open to the public.
Both the Sunflower Group and VAEF ACE Activities provide day activities for people with learning and physical disabilities at the Grange Farm Centre.
Ace Activities holds ‘Cooking with Confidence’ courses each Wednesday from 10am to 2.30pm, as well as carpentry and upcycling sessions, also on Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm. Other ACE Activities include gardening, art and music.
The Sunflower group meets on Fridays from 9.30am to 12pm and offers activities such as Boccia, art, chatting and socialising, as well as highlighting the importance of nature and climate issues.
The group also arranges walks around the Epping Forest area, which as well as being important for physical and mental health, also provide inspiration for art and photography.
