A Dagenham man has been charged with murdering his mother.

Nicolas Aina, 28, of Auriel Avenue, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court earlier today (November 1).

He is charged with the murder of his mother, 64-year-old Caroline Adeyelu, as well as the attempted murder of another woman, aged in her 30s.

Caroline died at the scene of an address in Auriel Avenue after police were called to a report of a stabbing at 9.35pm on Sunday (October 30).

A second woman was also found with stab injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is not life threatening, police said.

Aina was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, November 3.
