It was 7:05 am on Thursday, September the 22nd when the police received a call. A car crash was reported on Kingston Road oustide of The Queen Adelaide pub in Ewell. The specifics of the crash are unclear but two cars and a bus were involved.
Civilians around the incident started filming the car crash and the video quickly gathered a lot of attention on social media. The video shows the front of a car and the back of a bus destroyed and on fire.
One of the two cars and the bus caught on fire directly after the collision. Two fire engines and ambulance crews were called onto the scene and arrived just 10 minutes after the initial telephone call. Thankfully the rescue services quickly intervened, preventing the situation from worsening and keeping the crisis under control.
Unfortunately one person suffered minor injuries but no other injuries were reported and the passengers managed to get out of the vehicles in time. The injured person was rushed to St Helier Hospital in Ewell but luckily is now out of harm’s way.
The road from Ruxley Lane to Mavis Avenuebwill be closed for a long period of time due to the damage inflicted onto the road but diversions have been put in place.
