An independent beauty salon has been named Best Colour Salon in Essex at a national awards ceremony. 

The Vanilla Room, located in High Street, Hornchurch, won the accolade at the Salon Awards 2022 event, held at London’s Leonardo Hotel on November 12. 

Salons from all over the country took part, with a panel of industry experts deciding the winners. 

It is the third time The Vanilla Room has secured a top prize at the awards, winning Essex Colour Salon of the Year 2018 and Essex Best Salon of the Year 2019. 

This year's success also came just days after it celebrated its 27th anniversary, having first opened on North Street in 1995. 

Awarding The Vanilla Room the prize, the judges said its “commitment to delivering high quality hair colour, cut and style services is unmatched”. 

Kerry Larcher, owner of The Vanilla Room, said: “As a Hornchurch salon, to be judged against the best of the best and be awarded the title of Best Colour Salon in Essex is an incredible achievement. 

“It means the world to me, and my team of hairdressers, to be helping fly the flag for the London Borough of Havering."
