On September the 24th-25th, the London stadium hosted the Halal food festival event. Every single food stall there is halal, a Muslim's dream! The event took place on the 24th to the 25th of September with 2 time slots. You had to book your tickets in advance, some people even had to book their tickets months before to secure a place to this exciting opportunity. Right next to Westfield, the stadium held thousands of people, and will continue to as the festival seemed to be proven very popular.
in this celebration of halal food, there were many different cuisines to select from, including specialized dishes. There were several steak and chip stalls, loads of burger places to choose from, a whole other section for dessert options and many more. At the festival, there were popular food vendors there too, such as Ghost burgers, the baklava company, birria tacos. German sausage Uk, treatz and many, many more. There were also several drink companies selling their nonalcoholic drinks, like the mocktail company and bubble tea stations. Aswell as the main food and dessert, they had also invited cookery specialists who demonstrated how to cook certain foods on a kitchen brought in specifically for this demo. Aswell as the food vendors, they also had a fashion, health, & beauty section, kitchen, home & lifestyle section under white marquees. This was a chance for businesses to promote their products, some such as perfume, modest clothes, hijab scarves, organic skincare, books for kids, etc.
Even though the event was catered specifically for Muslims, people from different backgrounds and religions came together to celebrate food and lifestyle. When asked about how the event was, Dua Adnan, a third-year university student, commented “the festival was an amazing chance to have lots of halal places all in one spot as it's really annoying to have to ask if a place is halal every time I want to eat out somewhere. It was also cool how they didn’t only have food vendors there; they had some pop-up stores as well. I bought some hijab under caps too.”. The halal food festival will continue to be held, the latest one happening on the 25-26th of February 2023 at the excel center. The tickets are not currently up for sale yet, but you can check the website for more details about the next one.
