Standards have dropped at a Chadwell Heath nursery, according to Ofsted's latest report.
Farrance Road Nursery and Pre-School was inspected by the education watchdog on October 24, and the report was published on November 29.
The nursery, which is part of the London Early Years Foundation nursery group (LEYF), was previously inspected in November 2016 and was found to be 'outstanding', the highest rating.
It has now been recognised as 'good', the second highest score.
Inspectors wrote in their most recent report: "Children show that they feel happy, safe and secure in this welcoming and stimulating environment.
"Children benefit from an exciting and creative curriculum and show high levels of interest and engagement as they explore and learn.
"Staff create a wonderful atmosphere and have high expectations for children's learning and behaviour.
"They are positive role models and teach children about expected boundaries in a consistent way."
But inspectors did have some recommendations for ways that the nursery could improve.
They wrote: "To improve, the provider should strengthen the interactions of some staff working with babies during play, to extend and challenge their language skills and learning to an even higher level.
"They should also build on opportunities for children to learn about the wider world and local environment through more first-hand experiences."
Inspectors were happy with safeguarding measures at the nursery.
June O'Sullivan, CEO of London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), said: "We are delighted that Farrance Road Nursery & Pre-School has received a very positive and warm Ofsted report which champions how children feel happy, safe and secure in a welcoming and stimulating environment whilst acknowledging the great work of our committed staff.
"Although Farrance Road Nursery did not retain its ‘outstanding’ award, this 'good' report reflects the new Ofsted inspection criteria launched last September and we are now putting in plans to address the two minor points raised on the day."
