An arrest has been made after a man was reportedly seen acting “erratically” with a weapon in Greenwich.
It happened at a residential address in Pilot Walk just before 9am this morning (January 21).
Armed officers responded and worked to engage with the man who barricaded himself in a room.
A number of neighbouring addresses were evacuated as a precaution.
A man was arrested on suspicion of affray and threats to commit arson just after 10.50am.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 08:58hrs on Saturday, 21 January to a residential address in Pilot Walk, Greenwich Peninsula SE10 following a disturbance.
“A man was reported to be behaving erratically and possibly armed with a weapon.
“Armed officers were among those responding.
“Police worked to engage with the man who barricaded himself into a room.
“A number of neighbouring addresses were evacuated as a precaution.
“At 10:53hrs the man was arrested on suspicion of affray and threats to commit arson.
“There are no reports of any injuries.”
