From budget flicks to multi-million-pound movies, Romford’s annual Horror Festival is back with more chills – and this time, with a distinctly European flavour.
Organised for February 23 to 26 at Romford’s Premiere Cinema, this year’s festival will see 102 features and short films shown over its four-day run.
A host of local talent is included in the line-up. Videoshop Tales of Terror, which was largely shot at the Mercury, will be joined by screenings including Romford filmmaker Carrie Kendall’s We are the Final Girls.
Specially for this year, Romford Horror Festival will also have a notable Italian theme, inspired after a long-unseen interview with acclaimed director Lucio Fulci was recently uncovered.
In recognition of this, two Italian actors who worked with the director, Silvia Collatina and Giovanni Lombardo Radice, will be at the festival doing interviews and signings for fans.
Spencer Hawken, festival director, described this year as “a real turning point”, after plans to host Exorcist actress Eileen Dietz in 2020 were ditched due to Covid.

Tickets for the festival range from £4 for individual tickets to £34 for a full festival pass.
