Five more people have been arrested after the fatal shooting of man in Erith, bringing the total arrests to seven.
Two men, 18 and 20, old have previously been charged with Kai McGinley’s murder, who was shot dead in Pembroke Road at 8.50pm on February 9.
It was reported that two vehicles were involved in the incident, and that several attackers in balaclavas fired shots at the victim following a road chase.
Officers found the 24-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound a short distance away in Hillside.
Despite attempts by the emergency services to save his life, Kai died shortly after.
Kai’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Between March 9 and 10, officers carried out a number of warrants and arrested five more people.
A 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Three men aged 33, 17, 20, were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
All five currently remain in custody.
Police are still appealing for further information on Kai’s murder – anyone that can help the investigation should contact police quoting crime reference number 7135/09Feb.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood, who is leading the investigation, said: “I continue to urge anyone who has information regarding Kai’s murder, or the events of that night to come forward and speak with us.
“We have made a number of arrests but are investigation continues. Anything you know could prove vital in us securing the evidence to convict those responsible."

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives have made five further arrests following the death of a man in Erith as they continue to appeal for information.
“Police were called at approximately 8.50pm on Thursday, 9 February to reports of shots fired on Pembroke Road.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found 24-year-old Kai McGinley suffering with a gunshot injury. Despite the best efforts of emergency services to save him, Kai died at the scene.
“On Thursday, 9 into Friday, 10 March, homicide detectives supported by specialist colleagues from across the Met carried out a number of warrants and arrested five people.
“A 16-year-old girl [C] was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 53-year-old man [D] was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
“Three males – [E – 33yrs; F – 17yrs; G – 20yrs] – were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
“All five remain in custody.
