Has spring sprung? Or has Columbia Road started early to spread the sweet, succulent scents of favourites, ranging from radiant roses, to vibrant blues. Whether or not winter has wrapped up yet, the aromatic selection has people buzzing for more.

Columbia Road, at the heart of the East End, overlooks the edge of the City, whilst comfortably sitting near Shoreditch to the west and Brick Lane and Spitalfields also nearby.

It was founded in 1866, when Architect Henry Darbishire wanted to create an ethereal, magestic courtyard which teemed with an abundance of flowers. This attracted a lot of visitors who came to purchase these delighhts. This became a tradition and to this, since the 1980’s the market has grown into one of the international reputes. Today a wide range of unusual shops complement it, turning the whole area into one of the most interesting shopping experiences to be had anywhere.

One of London's most well-known and nicest-looking markets, Columbia Road overflows with bucketfuls of beautiful flowers every Sunday. From 8am-3pm, market traders line the narrow street selling flowers, houseplants, herbs, bulbs and shrubs.

One pleasant shopper stated, "The selections get better and better everytime I come here." This is evident that Columbia Road Market has secured a place in people's hearts as it continues to serve the people with its blissful choices in handcrafts and flower bouquets.
