As we enter early Spring, exams are just around the corner and students across the country are preparing themselves for another upcoming exam series. Since the pandemic, exams have been highly scrutinized due to their inability to comprehend students’ real ability during the period of their specific courses. Therefore, new methods of learning have been vital to continue to engage students. Using platforms such as Tik Tok has been at the forefront of education since the return to the classroom.
One content creator that has been all over teenagers’ screens over the past 18 months has been Ishaan Bhimjiyani, commonly referred to as Revishaan. With 290,000 followers on Tik Tok, 400M views, and 20,000 YouTube subscribers, Revishaan mania is in full swing with his reach spanning across the country accumulating a large fanbase. I sat down with him to discuss his meteoric rise to success and his journey as an entrepreneur.
Ishaan describes his introduction to social media and content creation purely as ‘’a lockdown project’’ to help him keep motivated with his own work. Unexpectedly to him, the reaction was incredible and his ‘’study with me’’ sessions and unique style of presenting content caught on, and the follower count began to grow. Alongside doing this, of course, he practiced what he preached and smashed his GCSES and selected his A Levels with the intention to study law at University and complete a prestigious Oxbridge application.
However, as viewing figures increased Ishaan explained he couldn’t ignore how popular he was becoming, and that Law wasn’t for him. In 2022, the formation of his Revishaan LTD was just the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. Creating a digital marketing agency at the age of 17 alongside his Discord server which provides students with tutoring and the ability to collaborate with over 40,000 students. And believe me when I say there is more! In February this year, Ishaan gained equity in Dubai with the app School Hack, the new AI language model made for the students by students.
However, with fame comes misfortune, social media trolling has become a part of every influencer’s life. He believes the trolling he received was because people often can’t separate the person from the persona. Although Ishaan’s motto ‘’Use and Reuse’’ doesn’t allow him to settle for second best and this clearly demonstrates how the entrepreneurial mindset has now been well and truly instilled within him.
After spending time with Ishaan you realize he is just like you, an ambitious student who is future-driven and determined to make an impact. One can only be inspired by what he is doing and from one Ishaan to another.
