A 16-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Elephant and Castle.

The incident happened on a route 63 bus in New Kent Road just after 2pm today (April 4).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene and found a boy injured.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

A crime scene has been put in place.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote reference CAD3821/4Apr.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said "Police were called at 14:04hrs to reports of a stabbing on a Route 63 bus on New Kent Road, SE1.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the male, aged 16, was taken to hospital for treatment; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“A crime scene is in place.

“Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD3821/4Apr.

“You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
