Police are investigating after five people were treated for smoke inhalation following a blaze at a derelict warehouse.

The London Fire Brigade's 999 control officers received 33 calls after people near the building in Watford Way, Mill Hill, spotted clouds of smoke yesterday evening (Thursday, April 27).

The fire brigade was first alerted at 7.33pm and the fire took almost two hours to put out.

A spokesperson said: "Five people left the building before firefighters arrived and were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Crews for smoke inhalation."

The fire was under control by 9.14pm.

Part of the building was damaged by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investgation by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.

Crews from Mill Hill, Hendon, Finchley and Stanmore fire stations attended the scene.
