A new Turkish restaurant has opened its doors in Blackheath Standard this week.
On Monday (May 22), Turkish Doner Kebab, owned by local catering entrepreneur Akyut Bayrat, opened in Old Dover Road.
The restaurant joins the current parade of shops in the area and has been described as a “much-welcomed” addition to the area.
Akyut started out in the catering business in 2010 working in a fish and chip shop and now employs a team of six staff.
The restaurant serves modern Turkish cuisine along with traditional dishes, vegetarian and vegan options, and sweet desserts.

Akyut said: “It’s great to see locals smiling and happy with my new restaurant. They are pleased that I’ve opened.”
The restaurant is set to have a grand opening on Wednesday (May 24) after a long delay in its development.
Turkish Doner Kebab will be open weekdays from 12pm-10pm.
