A restaurant opened by Love Island star Kem Cetinay but which faced complaints of noise and anti-social behaviour has shut its doors.

Array Essex, located in Shepherds Hill, Harold Wood, had its opening hours reduced after a Havering licencing committee meeting last December.

During a two-day long meeting, the committee heard several complaints from councillors and neighbours. These included allegations about street brawls, drug use outside, shouting, loud music, parking on driveways, among others.

In November 2022, a 33-year-old man was found stabbed outside the restaurant’s premises. But the venue was allowed to continue with reduced hours and some conditions attached by the council.

Array was launched by Cetinay and business partner Nadir Gul in 2021.

They expanded the venue to create the jungle-themed Bayou Lounge the following year.

In a post on its Facebook page, the restaurant announced it closed on Sunday (July 9) after “much thought and reflection”.

"We have listened to our local community and actioned a plan," it added.

While Array has closed, it said, the restaurant will be undergoing a transformation and rebranding “for an exciting new concept” under a new management team.
