A Bexleyheath leisure centre was temporarily closed following a chemical leak in the plant room of the building.
At 10am today (July 18) London Fire Brigade were called to the scene of a chemical leak at Crook Log Leisure Centre in Bexleyheath.
The building was evacuated after 10am and investigations by London Fire Brigade later revealed that there had been a chlorine leak in the plant room of the building.
London Ambulance Service paramedics also attended.
The incident was eventually under control by around 12.20pm and London Fire Brigade left the scene shortly after.
Social media posts from Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre and Bexley Council confirmed the temporary closure of the centre and advised people not to attend the centre until further notice.
London Borough of Bexley tweeted: “Crook Log Leisure Centre is temporarily closed; please do not attend the centre at this time.
“We will let you know when the centre has re-opened. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

The centre has now repoened from around 1pm today following the incident.
A Facebook post from Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre said: "We have now reopen.
"We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time.
Well done to all the teams involved, a big thank you to London Fire Brigade for all their help!"
