Firefighters acted to cool a gas cylinder as a caravan was completely destroyed in a blaze near Hampstead Heath.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to Hampstead Lane just after 1.45pm yesterday (August 15).
Firefighters tackled the blaze, which destroyed the caravan, and also had to cool a gas cylinder at the scene.
An LFB spokesperson said that the cause of the fire is under investigation, but said that some gas cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
The brigade received nine calls about the fire, which two fire engines and around ten firefighters attended.
The blaze, tackled by crews from Finchley fire station, was under control just after 2.30pm.
