A fire at a busy train station disrupted services during rush hour and caused delays.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) crews were called at 5.03pm yesterday (September 8) to a report of smoke on the District Line between Upminster and Upminster Bridge station.
A set of points on the track was damaged by the fire, LFB said.
Two fire engines from Hornchurch and Harold Hill stations attended the scene.
Minor delays were reported on the District Line between Upminster and Barking westbound.
This was due to an earlier fire alert at Upminster, according to a Transport for London (TfL) update at the time.

The blaze had been extinguished before firefighters arrived, LFB added.
A good service was reported by TfL on the rest of the line.
TfL have been contacted to establish the cause of the fire.
Upminster station, managed by train operator c2c, serves the London Underground, Overground and National Rail.
