London Ambulance Service has issued a statement after a middle-of-the-night stabbing in Croydon.

A man was rushed to hospital at 3.25am this morning (Friday, September 29) following a stabbing on College Road close to East Croydon station.

London Ambulance Service sent an incident response officer a medic in a fast response car, and an ambulance crew to the scene.

London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.

A man was treated by crews at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (29 September) at 3:25am to reports of a stabbing on College Road, Croydon.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an incident response officer, a medic in a fast-response car, and an ambulance crew.

“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to major trauma centre as a priority.”

A crime scene is currently in place at the scene.

There have been no arrests.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 03:30hrs on Friday, 29 September to reports of a man suffering stab injuries in College Road, Croydon.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man, believed aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment.

“His injuries have been described as not life threatening but potentially life changing.

“A crime scene remains in place at the location and includes part of the access to East Croydon station.

“No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.

“Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD822/29Sep.
