"Streams" of cars queued through a fire station as fire crews held a charity car wash.

Loughton Fire Station held a car wash in aid of Cancer Research, The Teenage Cancer Trust and the Firefighters Charity on Saturday, September 30.

Organiser Michael Tyrrell-Price said the event was a great success, with a total of £904.96 raised, which will be split equally between the good causes.

He said: "Our firefighters sprayed, scrubbed, and polished for over four hours while streams of cars came through to support the causes. The generosity of the local community was overwhelming!"

Mr Tyrrell-Price said special thanks went to firefighters Alberto Prado Linan, Loughton Red watch, George Bex, Loughton Green watch, Loughton Blue watch, Steve White, Drew Black, Andy Stone, Matt Nash, station manager Scott Ford, Epping officer in charge Ryan Fitzgibbon and Epping fire fighter Bradley Fitzgibbon, along with his children Eloise and Luke.

He also thanked Slims Detailing in Enfield for donating the car wash equipment and Wayne from The Naked Sausage, who provided the outstanding homemade burgers and sausages.
