A man in his 80s has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A282 near the Dartford Crossing.

The incident between a white Iveco HGV and a pedestrian happened just before 2.30pm yesterday (October 14).

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.

He was taken to a London hospital for treatment where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was taken into police custody.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Witnesses are being urged to come forward following a serious collision near the Dartford Crossing.

“The incident, involving a white Iveco articulated HGV and a pedestrian, happened at 2.24pm on Saturday 14 October 2023.

“Patrols and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the slip road from the London bound carriageway of the A2, just before it joins the A282 towards the Dartford Crossing.

“A man in his 80s was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

“A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and taken into custody.

“Enquiries into the incident are underway and officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision.

“Drivers with dashcam are also asked to check for footage that may assist the investigation.
