Benedict Cumberbatch will once again be solving crimes when he performs in a one night only spoof Whodunnit.
This time, the Sherlock star plays an inspector in the unrehearsed murder mystery at Park Theatre, which sees celebrities fed the lines of the unseen script through an ear piece.
Directed and co-written by the Finsbury Park venue's artistic director Jez Bond, the third instalment of the fundraising comedy is set on a train and involves diamonds, mayhem, and a sky high body count.
Other celebs signed up to crack the case in Whodunnit (Unrehearsed 3) include Gillian Anderson, David Baddiel, Beverley Knight, Adrian Dunbar, Mark Gatiss. Harry Hill, Emma Thompson Jodie Whittaker and Jason Manford.
Tamsin Greig, David Haig, Adam Hills, Ronan Keating, Ross Kemp, Les Dennis, Adrian Lester, Maureen Lipman, Gareth Malone, Stephen Mangan, Tim McInnerny, David Mitchell, Neil Morrissey, Eddie Nestor, Sue Perkins, Clarke Peters, Daisy Ridley, Rob Rinder, Tony Robinson, Meera Syal, Catherine Tate, Sandi Toksvig, Johnny Vegas, Tim Vine, and Greg Wise are also boarding the murder train, with further big names announced before the March 2024 run.
The biggest mystery is wondering who will arrive on the platform at your performance, as ticket holders paying up to £99 per seat do not know which celeb will perform on the night.
Every show features the voice of long term Park Theatre supporter Sir Ian McKellen and the audience has a chance to quiz the celebrity in a behind the scenes chat post performance.
Park Theatre has also announced its 2024 season will include a fresh dramatization of John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga. Broken into two parts the Victorian drama is adapted by Shaun McKenna and Lin Coghlan to spotlight the female voices in the tale of wealthy solicitor Soames Forsyte, his beautiful but unhappy wife Irene, and a shocking act that reverberates down the generations.
Other shows include a musical play of female awakening A Song of Songs, Ostan, a hard-hitting drama about immigration and human trafficking, and The Marilyn Conspiracy Guy Masterson's meticulously researched thriller about the crucial hours following the the death of Marilyn Monroe.
Jez Bond said: "We’re delighted to be bringing the third instalment of Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] to Park Theatre, and so grateful to the astonishing slate of guest performers who are once again donating their time to us.
"As a venue that receives no regular public subsidy, their ongoing support to fundraisers such as this are vital to keep the venue open as costs climb, and ensure we can keep supporting emerging artists as well as the community outreach we do and our continuing efforts to make performances accessible for all."
Whodunnit Unrehearsed runs March 27 until May 4 at Park Theatre.
