Your shoes are staple pieces in modern fashion, a vital part of your get-up, and can either make or break your appearance. Despite this, they are often overlooked. I know you’ve been that one person taking ages to do your hair, and then scurrying out of the house with a pair of flimsy flip-flops covering your soles. We’ve all done that, and it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Now, I’m not trying to say that you should go to the store and dump every single pair of trainers you can get your hands on into your basket, and then take hours to decide what you want to wear and end up choosing flipflops anyways - that’s unless you want to of course- but perhaps consider investing in something more unique, something that screams you.

You probably didn’t know, but you can definitely get your own customised sneakers. My nearest sneaker customiser, and in my opinion by far the best- was DoYouCustoms in Thronton Heath, Croydon. So naturally, I went to talk to the owner, Towima Sosanaya. He revealed to me the 3 week process he undergoes to make sure the sneakers are tailored and bespoke, and how closely he works with the customer to ensure complete customer satisfaction and utmost quality and perfection.

When I asked him about his company’s motto, he simply responded with “Stay true and do you. Be bold and stand out. ” He then went on to explain to my dumbfounded self that everyone has their own sense of individuality, and he wanted to share his love for sneakers with others, as he was inspired by his parents (who were both businesspeople) to contribute to society. I daresay that he absolutely smashed his objectives, because is it just me or do those sneakers look epic?

In conclusion, I’m just suggesting that it may be a good choice for some to diversify your large selection of flip-flops with one good pair of sneakers. Admittedly, custom sneakers aren’t for everyone, but if you have that sense of style, that jazz, and if the sneakers just….click, perhaps you should had down to DoYouCustoms to free yourself from the chains of being represented by the big brand - and obviously the flipflops - and find something that’s truly you.
