Netflix has been releasing seasons of the Crown over the past few years and having gained amazing media attention, I felt obliged to see what it was all about.
Season 1 of the series explores the lives of the members of the British Royal family during the time of 1947-1955, especially focusing in on the lives of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Princess Margaret and Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at the time.
The show starts off with the marriage of Princess Elizabeth to Prince Philip and shows the earlier part of the Queen's reign, after the death of her father, George VI.
As well as this, the show shows Winston Churchill's importance and his actions during significant events that have shaped history, such as The Great Smog of 1952 and Princess Margaret's love affair with Peter Townsend, the man she wanted to marry and the reasons why it would be hard for her to.
Netflix goes into a great level of depth and shows us what happens behind closed doors.
I absolutely loved Season 1 of Netflix's Crown.
The gripping series went into a high level of depth over all the significant topics that have defined history and made me see the family in a completely different light.
If you're someone that doesn't know much about the history of the county, there is no need to shy away from the show, in fact the show is possibly one of the best ways to find out more.
I will certainly be watching the second season and recommend to all.
When another was questioned, he said he went away having seen a completely different side of the Royal Family which hasn't been shown to the public before.
