A man has died after a stabbing in Southwark.
The incident happened in Old Kent Road just after 7am today (January 9).
Officers, London Ambulance Service crews and an air ambulance attended and found a man injured.
He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 7.20am.
Police enquiries are now underway to identify the victim and notify his next of kin.
A post mortem examination will be held in due course.
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
They currently remain in police custody.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 7.02am on Tuesday, 9 January to reports of a stabbing at Old Kent Road, SE1.
“Police, London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended. At the scene a man was found with knife injuries.
“Despite the efforts of emergency services to save him, the victim sadly died at the scene at 7.22am.
“Officers have arrested one man and one woman. They remain in custody at this time.
“A crime scene and cordons remain in place.
“Enquiries are underway to identify the victim and notify next of kin.
“A post mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
“Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have been notified.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
