The Piano is one of the most popular instruments around with a vast repertoire ranging from Bach to Beyonce and is very beginner friendly where you can simply press the keys and a beautiful sound comes out. We are all told how it can help your mind develop, but do you know how it helps to potentially make you into a better learner and thinker in life?

The piano, being unlike other instruments requires both hands to play equally difficult parts and this means that one has to focus on two entirely different things at the same time. This proves to develop several parts of the brain at a rapid pace such as an improved executive function which would allow a person to have a much better memory due to having to memorise various pieces along their musical journey. This improved memory allows them to store information in their brain much faster than people who have not learned the piano. However, this function does go away when you start to stop playing the piano.

Using separate hands allows the two different hemispheres inside the brain to connect and therefore allows them to solve various problems that come with life more efficiently and creatively.

The piano can help children improve their learning capabilities and increase their academic potential. This can also help adults by giving themselves a workout for the brain and a new hobby.
