Superstar DJ Michael Bibi, who last year beat a rare form of brain and spinal cancer, will play a huge 45,000 capacity "homecoming" gig in Finsbury Park.

The Ibiza DJ and dance music producer posted on Instagram last June that he was being treated for primary central nervous system lymphoma.

"I don't know what lies ahead, I'm tired but I know I am strong and I won't let this beat me," he added.

The founder of the Solid Grooves label was forced to cancel appearances at Parklife and Glastonbury last summer, but in December he revealed he was cancer free after undergoing intensive treatment.

Now ready to celebrate life and music with fans, and express thanks for the overwhelming support he received during his illness, the 33-year-old has announced he will bring his tour ‘One Life’, to Finsbury Park on Saturday July 6.

Producers Cream and Festival Republic say the highlight of the tour will be the monumental outdoor gig - the biggest electronic show ever to take place in the capital.

He said: “I’m excited to give something back to my hometown after all the support and love I received during my cancer treatment.”

Growing up in south London the son of a dance teacher and blues guitarist, Bibi has a lifelong passion for music and acquired his first pair of turntables at the tender age of 14. He went on to be known for his groove style house music releasing tracks through Viva, Lost Records Madtech and his own label Solid Grooves and becoming a regular on the dance music circuit in the UK, Europe and Ibiza.

Bibi has yet to reveal the full line up for the gig which runs from 12noon until 10:30pm and will support various cancer charities including The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which supports the work of the NHS hospital where he received his treatment.
