FREE ACTIVITIES IN LONDON
After holiday overspending I’m sure we’re all looking for some ways to be more frugal. However, a tight budget doesn’t have to mean a boring weekend at home. This list will give a variety of fun days out that won’t break the bank.
For Art Lovers:
Quentin Blake Exhibition
Most of us will be familiar with Quentin Blake’s heartwarming illustrations from covers of the infamous Roald Dahl books. Quentin Blake’s exhibition is free to enter from the 31st Jan-18th February At the Arc Gallery in Cromwell Place.
Chris Ofili Requiem
To commemorate his friend who died in the Grenfell Tower fire, Chris Ofili has painted a stunning mural for Tate Britain’s North staircase.
The National Gallery
For a limited time only, Liotard’s painting, The Lavergne Family Breakfast is on display in the National Gallery. It is unique because the pastel and oil versions are displayed side by side which makes a fascinating comparison

Uber Boat
On a TFL under 18s zip card a ride down the Thames from Battersea Power Station to London Bridge costs just £3.65
24 Bus Route
For the cost of an ordinary bus fare you can take the 24 bus from Victoria to Hampstead Heath. The route will take you past iconic sites such as Westminster Cathedral, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, Denmark street and Camden Town before finishing near the huge green park at Hampstead Heath.
Cable Cars
With an under 18s zip card, a one way trip on the cable cars from the Royal Docks to the Greenwich Peninsula costs just £3 (or £6 for adults). You can fly high above the Thames and explore the O2 arena on the other side
Shopping Centres:
The Burlington Arcade
Opened in 1819, the Burlington Arcade is a beautifully decorated walkway where you can find luxury stores such as tailors and jewellers. You can still see the Beadles (guards of the arcade) standing at the entrance, dressed in the traditional uniform of top hats and frock coats.
Battersea Power Station
The ex-power station at Battersea has been redesigned into a vibrant shopping centre with over 150 shops and restaurants. The building has kept many of its original features, making it beautiful to have a walk around. It also features the largest Zara in the UK.

Urban Tribe
Urban Tribe offers a variety of free fitness activities in parks across London such as HiiT, yoga, running and bootcamps.
