One of the best forms of exercise to ever exist arguably is walking. Sure, it may not sound like the most interesting activity to do on a weekend in the winter, or a day during the school holidays, however, being in touch with the outdoors may often serve to be a fulfilling experience. And you might even come across some of the wonders nature has to offer whilst doing so.
Ealing has several green spaces on offer, for everyone to take in and appreciate. Pictured above is Acton Park, a space full of walking paths, sports courts, a playground for children and a skatepark. The park also features a lovely pond.
Also in Acton is Gunnersbury Park, jointly owned by Ealing Council and Hounslow Council. The 72-hectare park is a beautiful sight, even on a cold winter day. They even have a museum, which is free to enter, and features a stunning collection of museum items, all representing the history of Ealing and Hounslow.
In Ealing Broadway sits Walpole Park, with plenty of space to walk around as well as a pond and a lake to admire at any time of the year. The park is in the heart of Ealing and is a perfect place to go after shopping in the shopping centre, or after watching a film in any of the nearby cinemas.
Other great walking areas in Ealing include Elthorne Park in Hanwell, Lammas Park in South Ealing and Warren Farm in Southall.
Additionally, a list of independent walking routes in the borough can be found on the Ealing Parks Foundation website
