Today marks Townley Grammar School’s first Townley Spirit event: Career's Day which was an opportunity for all students to dress up as their dream job.

Alongside this, the annual Career's Fair was also held; delegates, with a vast array of backgrounds, from over 30 providers were invited to the school. Bringing together students, teachers and professionals from different fields, it was certainly a dynamic and unforgettable occasion.

The school hall was transformed into a bustling marketplace of career exploration, with stalls adorned with colourful banners and engaging displays, each meticulously arranged to showcase the uniqueness of the profession it represented. The event aimed to expose students to a myriad of career options, helping them make informed decisions about their future paths. Representatives from diverse industries, ranging from technology and healthcare to arts and engineering, were eager to share their insights and experiences.

Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals enabling them to ask questions and gain valuable insights into specific career paths. Whether it was a hands-on coding session with software developers or a panel discussion with environmental scientists, students had the chance to explore and discover their interests first-hand.

Sharing personal anecdotes and lessons learned, the representatives emphasised the importance of passion, perseverance, and continuous learning in the ever-evolving landscape of careers. Students listened attentively, motivated by the success stories that resonated with their aspirations. Thamarai Sivanesan, a student from Year 11 at Townley Grammar School stated that the Careers Fair was truly ‘fascinating’ as there was such a wide range of career paths to choose from and mentioned how ‘useful’ this event had been to learn about potential career paths she could potentially take in the future.

By the end of the day, the Career's Day event had not only broadened students' perspectives on various professions but had also sparked a newfound enthusiasm for their future endeavours. The connections made and knowledge gained during the event would undoubtedly contribute to informed decision-making as students embark on their educational and career journeys.
