A man has been arrested after passengers on a bus in Croydon were threatened with an unknown substance.
Police were called to the bus in London Road, Thornton Heath at around 8.30pm on Sunday.
All passengers and the driver evacuated the bus and police have confirmed that no one was held hostage or injured in the incident.
Police later found that the substance the man was carrying was not harmful and it was not thrown at any point.
Police suspected that the man was under the influence of drugs, and he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
London Road was cordoned off by the emergency services whilst the incident was ongoing.
The cordon was lifted and the road reopened at 12.05am.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "A man has been arrested by Met officers responding to an incident on a bus. The man had made threats but contrary to media reports nobody was taken hostage.
"Police were called to London Road, Thornton Heath shortly after 8.30pm on Sunday, February 11, to a man threatening bus passengers with an unknown substance. Nobody was held hostage.
"The man made threats and everyone else on the bus immediately got off.
“The substance was not thrown.
“Shortly before midnight, the 44-year-old man was arrested for affray. The substance was found not to be harmful.
"Taser was discharged before his arrest and officers believe the man had taken drugs. As a precaution, he was taken to hospital.
“His condition is not believed to be life-threatening."
