Mother’s Day afternoon tea at Greenwich Painted Hall

For the first time, guests will be able to take afternoon tea in The Painted Hall on March 10.

Known as Britain’s Sistine Chapel, the Painted Hall located in Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College is a stunning 18th century building with 200 painted figures.

The baroque hall, originally designed by Sir James Thornhill, features an array of figures that depict Britain’s long history.

It has also served as a backdrop for well-known films and TV shows like Netflix’s The Crown and Ridley Scott’s Napoleon.

The afternoon tea will feature a selection of sweet and savoury bites, including a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, and cakes along with a selection of teas from Hope & Glory.

Guests will also be serenaded to music provided by a live harpist to complement the beautiful baroque interiors of the hall.

The menu also features gluten free and vegan friendly options too, for diners with dietary needs.

Tickets for afternoon tea at The Painted Hall are bookable online for £65 for an adult and £40 for a child, which includes a milkshake.

Guests looking to toast the occasion can opt for a glass of prosecco for an additional £7 or Champaign for an additional £13.

Timeslots are available from 1pm to 2.30pm and 3.30pm to 5pm on March 10.
