The body of a man found in the river Thames has been formally identified by police as Abdul Ezedi.
The body was formally identified yesterday (February 22) after being discovered in the Thames on Monday.
A post-mortem examination carried out at Poplar Mortuary on Wednesday (February 21) confirmed the cause of death was drowning.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that his family has been informed and that a file will be passed onto the coroner.
Commander Jon Savell said: “We have worked to formally identify Ezedi as quickly as possible.
“As the public would expect, our enquiries continue into this atrocious attack.
“The 31-year-old woman is still in hospital and remains in a stable condition and no longer sedated.
“We have still not been able to speak to her but hope to as soon as she is well enough."
