A couple of months ago (before Christmas) I visited Saddlers Wells to watch their new dance show, Message in a bottle. It showcased various dance styles through a touching story of the 3 members of the family. In order to not spoil the plot I’ll give a brief overview. It follows a family through their respective troubles all to the beautiful music of STING. Including ofcourse the titular song message in a bottle. It follows two sons with their respective love interests. The story of the elder brothers romance through tumultuous times was an incredible highlight and the most enjoyable part of the entire show. The younger brothers love story and his finding himself and his place within the community was also incredibly touching and heartwarming. The story of the daughter was particularly beautiful to watch it was told through a very beautiful medium with aspects of puppetry and shadows.
