A builder who was convicted of stalking after he sent “vile” messages and voicemails to his ex-partner has been spared prison.
Adam Mace, 29, of Valley Drive in Gravesend, admitted stalking his ex-partner in Dartford in May last year.
The court heard he sent unwanted texts, voicemails and calls as well as turning up at locations he knew she would be.
At Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday (May 9) Judge Ruth Downing described the language he used as “deeply offensive”.
The messages included comments about her parents, her grandparents and her new partner.
“It never fails to amaze and depress me quite how vile people can be to people they once loved,” Judge Downing said.
Mace said he did not remember making the messages or calls because he was incredibly drunk.
But having now listened to the messages he said he is “disgusted with himself”.
Judge Downing handed Mace a suspended sentence to last two years after being convinced that Mace is prepared to change.
“Good luck in sorting yourself out, and please reflect carefully as a suspended sentence will hand over your head ready to come down if you offend again,” she said.
