A man is in hospital after being assaulted in Leyton. 

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called with reports of an injured man in Leyton High Road at 7.25am yesterday (May 19). 

At the scene, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service discovered a man suffering from head injuries near to the junction with Drapers Road. 

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for the Met Police has confirmed they believe the man was assaulted and that enquiries into the incident are ongoing. 

There have been no arrests as yet.
