A Victorian villa belonging to an actress and a Kensington gallery owner has come onto the market for £3 million.

The property is located in Russell Road, Crouch End, and features carefully curated interiors, furniture collected from across Europe, and original paintings and sculptures from Thackeray Gallery.

As well as a 'fire room', music room, and cinema room, the £3 million house has an outside dog bathroom to keep pups - and the house - clean.

The current owners describe the Russell Road home as being defined by its "flow, balance and light", due to its corner location that allows sunlight to flood in from all angles.

Great attention was paid to the lighting conditions throughout the house, with each room redesigned to "maximise the light" and more than 70 light fittings throughout the property.

The open-plan design of the home, as well as its interiors and lighting, all come together to create "different feelings" within each space.

The current owners said of the property's design: "With this layout of openness and flow, the house feels and is generous with a lateral feeling throughout.

"So many houses of this size in London, typically have narrow dark entrance halls and lots of flights of stairs.

"This lateral space is one of the reasons it feels so different and is special.

"It allows for much greater sense of being together."

The lower ground floor can either function as a part of the main house or stand alone as an independent apartment.

With a separate entrance, a bedroom, kitchenette, shower room and a large open-plan dining-living room, it's a completely self-contained floor.

A home's heart is said to be the kitchen, and this heart is "exceptionally high spec" - equipped with all integrated Siemens products and made by German kitchen designers Alno. It offers plenty of storage.

Alongside its aesthetic qualities, the house is equipped with practical modern amenities.

It features Sonos speakers throughout, is wired for a projector in the lower cinema room, and has a blue matrix box connecting all three televisions.

Heating management is facilitated by a combination of underfloor heating and radiators, which can be controlled remotely through a Nest app.

The property has a specially-designed outdoor dog bathroom with hot and cold running water, which also functions as an extra storage space.

The present owners – an actress and a Kensington Gallery owner – have filled the house with art collected from the Thackeray Gallery, Kensington.

They said: "We have a very eclectic style and the house has allowed us to bring in so many different pieces.

"Each one works in the space, as it is a very adaptable and versatile home."
