I went to a café in Battersea, and it was everything about it was absolutely wholesome.

The Table has two branches in London, and I headed to their Battersea branch on Saturday with my friend to enjoy their inventive menu.

The Table was only a short walk from Clapham Junction and as soon as I walked in, I felt comfortable by its simplistic and cosy decoration, both inside and outside.

We chose to sit outside in their inviting wooden furniture, adding to the wholesome experience.

While I’m usually somebody who knows what they want at a café, I had a rare moment of indecisiveness after looking at The Table’s variety of options, which left me salivating.

In the end, I chose to enjoy “The Table Full English” which features two fried free-range eggs, smoked streaky bacon, Cumberland sausage, ham hock and chorizo baked beans, herby mushrooms, roasted tomato and sourdough toast.

While the tomato stayed on the side and untouched, I gobbled the rest of the meal, enjoying every bit and each trimming.

My friend chose to have four stacked caramelised bananas with bacon pancakes, and the blend of sweet and savoury is one of the things that stands out about The Table.

Simply called Banana and Bacon, it struck a perfect balance with neither the sweet nor the savoury overpowering the other.

Service at The Table is consistently excellent, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to give their opinions and recommendations.

Our waitress Milena was incredibly enthusiastic about her job and made us feel welcome and comfortable instantly with her energetic personality.

As usual, there’s always room for dessert and I had the affogato, which is ice cream “drowned” in espresso.

And, as The Table does well, it was a perfect blend, this time of hot and cold.

Overall, The Table in Battersea was a great experience and its creative dishes, inviting atmosphere, and amazing service are why I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a calm and wholesome brunch in London.
