A curry house has reopened offering Japanese-inspired dishes following a refurbishment.

Kushi, in Main Road, Gidea Park, reopened yesterday (June 17) with unconventional dishes such as chicken tikka sushi on its menu.

Operations manager Sharif Uddin, 39, announced it would have a grand launch on Saturday (June 22) at 5.30pm, featuring a fire show with a flamethrower.

Kushi, which has another branch in Thurrock's Lakeside Shopping Centre, had closed its Gidea Park branch for renovation on March 10 this year.

But three months after it closed, Sharif said the Indian-Japanese restaurant is open for business once again today (July 18).

The business operates from 5pm until 10pm, Monday to Wednesday.

It is open from 5pm until 11pm on Thursday, and becomes a late night venue on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, Kushi is open from 5pm until 1am, from 12pm until 1am on Saturday. On Sundays, Kushi will operate from midday to 11pm.
